VIDEO RELEASE: Kline Urges Support for SKILLS Act

Right now the House is considering H.R. 803, the Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills (SKILLS) Act, legislation that will revamp the nation's broken workforce development system and help put Americans back to work.

Just moments ago, House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) urged his colleagues to join him in supporting H.R. 803 to create a more effective system that invests less in bureaucracy and more in the support and training workers need:

Today we have an opportunity to advance reforms that will give workers… a better chance to succeed. Our economy is extremely competitive and constantly changing. Unfortunately, the workforce training system has failed to keep up. It’s not surprising when you consider the size of the bureaucracy that now exists… For ten years Congress has talked about job training reform but has failed to make reform a reality. It is time to fix the broken job training system and help put more Americans back to work. I urge my colleagues to support the SKILLS Act.
