Kline Statement on ObamaCare Anniversary
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
March 23, 2011
U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairman John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement on the one year anniversary of the job-destroying health care law:
“In hearings before the Committee, we have repeatedly heard testimony describing the damage this law is inflicting on businesses, families, and our economy. And with each day this poorly conceived law remains in effect, we seem to learn even more about its devastating consequences. Just recently, the Congressional Budget Office reported the price of ObamaCare has already increased by roughly $500 billion – a 54 percent rise in costs in just one year. “Washington must learn from this costly mistake. My Republican colleagues and I are determined to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with commonsense solutions that reduce costs without increasing the size of the federal government. That is the kind of responsible reform that American people have long supported, and one we are committed to delivering.”
