Kline Statement on November Jobs Report

U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairman John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released employment data for November:

"The fact that thousands of Americans will have a new job this holiday season offers some comfort, but not nearly enough when coupled with an unemployment rate that is still unacceptably high. More must be done to ring in a more prosperous 2012. That’s why Republicans are working to change course in Washington by advancing legislation that removes obstacles standing in the way of a stronger, more competitive workforce.

"Just this week, my colleagues and I approved the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act, a top item on the House Republican jobs agenda. Unfortunately, the future of this important legislation is uncertain; more than two dozen bipartisan, House-passed jobs bills remain stalled by Democrat leaders in the Senate. Ignoring concrete solutions that will help job creation is an insult to the millions who are desperate for work. President Obama should join us in urging the Senate to take immediate action on these 25 jobs bills that will encourage the growth and certainty our economy needs."
