Kline Statement on August Jobs Report

House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released unemployment data for August 2016:

This jobs report reaffirms the concerns shared by many Americans that our country is heading in the wrong direction. For too long, we’ve been plagued by sluggish job growth, rising health care costs, and stagnant wages. That is why House Republicans have put forward A Better Way, a bold agenda that will help provide the prosperity and opportunity every family deserves.

In fact, we are already taking steps to implement a number of these pro-growth solutions. I am hopeful we can continue to advance reforms that will strengthen career and technical education so more men and women can gain the skills and education they need to achieve a lifetime of success. And we remain committed to lifting the regulatory burdens on small businesses, delivering meaningful health care reform, and promoting upward mobility. These are the kinds of commonsense solutions that will help move our country in a better direction.
