Kline, Walberg Respond to Judicial Decision on Overtime Rule
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
November 23, 2016
Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI), chairman of the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, issued the following statement in response to a preliminary injunction blocking implementation of the Department of Labor's overtime rule: We have repeatedly called for updating our nation's overtime rules in a fair and balanced way. Unfortunately, the administration took a fundamentally flawed approach that will hurt workers, small businesses, schools, and nonprofits. The administration should abandon this extreme and partisan rule, providing relief and certainty for both employers and workers. We applaud the judge's decision and will continue advancing the commonsense, pro-growth solutions the American people need. # # # |
