***MEDIA ADVISORY*** Committee Announces Field Hearing to Discuss Impact of ObamaCare
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
June 3, 2011
On Tuesday, June 7 at 9:00 a.m. CST, Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions Chairman Phil Roe, M.D. (R-TN), will join Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) in hosting the fourth field hearing of the 112th Congress. The field hearing, entitled "The Recent Healthcare Law: Consequences for Indiana Families and Workers," will take place at the Vanderburgh County Civic Center, located at 1 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in Evansville, Indiana.
The health care reform legislation that became law in 2010 poses significant changes to America's health care system. Questions have been raised regarding the ability of the law to control rising costs, and many are concerned about the additional economic burdens it will pile on employers, workers, and their families. While business owners are striving to create sustainable jobs and grow the nations workforce, new regulations and bureaucracy can divert significant resources and attention from this important task. Tuesday's field hearing will allow committee members to gather input from local business owners, employees, and health care professionals on the effects of the recent health care law.
