Kline Applauds Judicial Ruling on Health Care Law

U.S. House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement today after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit ruled the individual mandate in the Democrats’ health care law unconstitutional:

"If Washington can force a private citizen to buy government-approved health insurance, it is hard to imagine any limit to the federal government’s power. Despite the Obama administration’s efforts to defend the indefensible, today’s decision by a U.S. circuit court of appeals will help put the brakes on the unprecedented federal overreach in the Democrats’ health care law.

“ObamaCare not only undermines the personal freedoms of the American people, it is a growing threat to the nation’s job creators. That’s why House Republicans have advanced a proposal to repeal the unconstitutional health care law. If the president is serious about developing solutions that will help create new jobs, it is time he joined our efforts to scrap ObamaCare once and for all.”
