INFOGRAPHIC: The Growing Demand for Quality Charter Schools
WASHINGTON, D.C.,

To kick off the 15th annual National Charter Schools Week, the House Education and the Workforce Committee has put together an infographic to highlight the growing demand for quality charter schools:
The charter school movement has grown significantly since it began more than twenty years ago. But with more than one million students' names on charter school waitlists, it is increasingly clear charter schools need a revamped federal law that will make it easier to start, replicate, and expand quality charter schools to better meet the needs of students and their families. That’s why House Republicans and Democrats have joined together to advance the Success and Opportunity through Quality Charter Schools Act (H.R. 10). Introduced by Chairman John Kline (R-MN) and Ranking Member George Miller (D-CA), this bipartisan legislation will support the growth of successful charter schools and help ensure more children have access to these innovative institutions.
