TheHouse Committee on Education and the Workforce, chaired by Rep. John Kline (R-MN), will hold two hearings next week featuring testimony from administration officials.
On Tuesday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m., the full committee will hold a hearing entitled, “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.” Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell will testify. Members are expected to discuss a number of policies under the department’s jurisdiction, including the president’s health care law, the Head Start program, and early childhood development. The hearing will take place in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
On Wednesday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m., the full committee will hold a hearing entitled, “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the U.S. Department of Labor.” Secretary Thomas E. Perez will testify. Members will discuss a number of department policies, including regulatory proposals affecting retirement advice and wage and hour protections, as well as implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The hearing will take place in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
