Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), chairwoman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and Rep. Glenn Thompson (R-PA), made the following joint statement after the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee announced it will consider Career and Technical Education legislation next week:
“We welcome the news that the Senate HELP Committee will consider CTE legislation next week. It’s been over a year since the House of Representatives unanimously passed the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which was the result of diligent bipartisan work by members of the Committee on Education and the Workforce. We can make it possible for Americans to get the skills they need to succeed by giving workforce development programs the freedom to innovate and focus on local needs. We remain dedicated to working with the Senate on this effort.” To learn more about the Strengthening Career and Technical Education For the 21st Century Act, click here. # # # |
