Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after President Biden released the “skinny” version of the budget for fiscal year 2022, which among other provisions will give Pell Grants to illegal aliens and allow further federal encroachment of the private-sector: 
 
“Biden needs a reality check. Giving handouts for illegal aliens to pursue taxpayer-funded education flies in the face of his concern for the student debt crisis in this country. Not only will this take opportunities away from American students, but this budget will also ensure that students enter a workforce with heavy government oversight and where unions have a bigger say in how their paychecks are spent than they do. 
 
“President Biden likes to allude to his ‘middle-class’ roots. But the middle class looks at this budget and scoffs. This budget gives us insight into the administration’s priorities - American students and workers are at the bottom.”
