Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) latest report detailing the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Administration for Children and Families’ cover-up of its endangerment of countless unaccompanied children at the southern border:

“The OIG’s report is a damning indictment of HHS—the agency should be turned upside down and shaken until all the facts are extracted. From inciting increased distress and anxiety among unaccompanied minors to releasing them to unsafe sponsors, who may be sex offenders or human traffickers, HHS has had a ‘chilling’ effect on whistleblowers within the agency and attempted to hide its misdeeds from the public eye for months on end. This is unacceptable and inexcusable.”
