Education Freedom or Bust

Today, Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) praised the ‘‘National School Choice Week’’ resolution, introduced by Rep. John Moolenaar (R-MI), for which she is an original cosponsor:

“Our mantra must be: ‘Education freedom or bust.’ The pandemic proved our country’s education system is broken. The only fix for students is education freedom. It is time to empower parents and disempower those trying to trap students in failing schools; this includes the corrupt education bureaucracy and power-hungry teachers unions.

“To get our education system back on track, we must welcome a marketplace of education options for parents to choose from. This will increase competition and consequently quality. A free-market system works for our economy; it will work for K-12 education, too.

“This resolution demonstrates Republicans are wholeheartedly committed to promoting school choice in the 118th Congress; we are willing to put students above systems and families above bureaucrats.”
