WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, June 6, at 10:15 a.m., the Education and the Workforce Committee will hold a markup to consider five bills: H. Res. 461, Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Congress disapproves of the use of public elementary and secondary school facilities to provide shelter for aliens not admitted to the United States, H.R. 1147, Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act of 2023, H.R. 2813, Self-Insurance Protection Act, H.R. 2868, Association Health Plans Act, and H.R. 824, Telehealth Benefit Expansion for Workers Act of 2023.
“Three of the bills that we will discuss deliver more affordable, accessible, and flexible health care options. One of the major issues we hear from small businesses is the rising cost of health care. It’s a formidable challenge for millions of Americans on Main Street. We are providing Americans with solutions that will level the playing field for small businesses and provide workers with increased access to health care services,” said Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC). “We have two other bills that focus on the well-being of students. From cutting regulatory barriers that allow nutritious milk options in school meals to condemning the turning of taxpayer funded public schools into asylums for illegal immigrants, we are delivering on our promise to put the academic success and safety of students first.”
