Foxx on NAIA’s Vote to Protect Women’s Sports

WASHINGTON – Today, Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ (NAIA) vote to protect women’s sports:

"Allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports is a travesty—one that the Biden administration is enabling with its radical interpretation of Title IX. The result? Women are being denied equal opportunity—the very purpose of Title IX. This administration appears to be fine with kicking girls off a sports team to make way for biological males. The real-world impact means fewer college scholarships and in turn fewer opportunities for these girls. And it is truly upsetting.

"Sports are about competition and fair play; allowing biological males to compete against women jeopardizes both of those things. I am pleased to see the NAIA recognize this and take action to protect women’s sports. It’s time for others to step up."
