WASHINGTON – The Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) today welcomed U.S. Representative Michael Rulli (R-OH) as the newest member of the Committee. Rep. Rulli was sworn in to serve Ohio’s Sixth Congressional District.
“Representative Rulli will be a welcomed voice on our Committee as we work to improve education for students of all ages,”said Dr. Foxx. “He brings real-world experience and knowledge of these issues at the local level that will be invaluable to our team. We’re thrilled to have him join us.”
“As a former school board member, and more importantly, as the father of two, I’m committed to ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed and thrive,”said Rep. Rulli.“I look forward to working with the rest of the Committee to deliver real results for students across the country.”
Rep. Rulli is a passionate advocate for education, having previously been elected to the Leetonia School Board. As president of the school board, he led the district through a crippling financial crisis, eventually earning Leetonia School a place in the state’s top 100 schools in “value-added.”
Rep. Rulli will serve on the Subcommittees on Higher Education and Workforce Development, and Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, where his previous experience will provide crucial insight into the issues before the Committee.
