WASHINGTON – Tomorrow, September 10, at 10:15 a.m., the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, chaired by Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), will hold a hearing titled: “ERISA’s 50th Anniversary: The Value of Employer-Sponsored Health Benefits.”
“For 50 years, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) has been the legislative foundation that protects Americans’ access to employer-sponsored insurance. This hearing will give important insight into the value that employer-sponsored insurance continues to bring to employees, employers, and the public,”said Chairman Good. “We can improve upon ERISA by protecting employer-driven flexibility, innovation, and competition—ultimately reducing health care costs for Americans. No longer can Congress ignore the burdens that government overregulation and the Left’s ‘Medicare-for-All’ mentality have wrought on America’s health care system.”
