Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement regarding AmeriCorps’ 8th straight year of failing its audit:

“The results of the Inspector General’s audit have further cemented the fact that AmeriCorps is nothing more than a burn pit for the dollars of hardworking taxpayers. Those in charge are either too dense to realize that the whole agency has gone up in smoke, or they are simply too obstinate to even care. Here’s a simple solution that will cure this fiscal contagion: close AmeriCorps’ doors and tear the agency down brick by brick.”
