Chair Owens to Hold Subcommittee Hearing on AmeriCorps Audit Failure - Tomorrow at 10:15AM

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 10, 2024

WASHINGTON — Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11, at 10:15 a.m., the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development, chaired by Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT), will hold a hearing titled: “Examining the Policies and Priorities of AmeriCorps and Its FY 2024 Audit Failure.”

“AmeriCorps is a prime example of the federal government’s inefficiency. It has failed eight audits in a row, and yet the Biden-Harris administration wants to expand its mission to include ‘environmental justice’ and up its budget to boot,’” said Chairman Owens. “This hearing will lay out the facts and make it clear why AmeriCorps should be at the top of DOGE’s list for consideration once President-elect Trump is back in the White House.”
