Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) issued the following statement on President Trump’s executive order to restore common sense:
 
"Blatant and deliberate attempts to redefine our sons’ and daughters’ identities by questioning biology itself has done significant harm to our children and society. Today’s action by the Trump administration acknowledges the biological differences between men and women.
 
"In doing so, it is protecting women from discrimination and securing the progress women have made over the decades. Instead of trying to erase sex, the administration is recognizing it, celebrating it. Doing so will give women and girls opportunities to thrive and excel on and off the field.
 
"Today’s executive order is the first step in restoring common sense and sanity in this country."
