Chair Walberg Statement on President Trump’s 2025 Joint Address
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
March 4, 2025
Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) issued the following statement ahead of President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress: “Tonight, President Trump will outline his bold vision for America. The Trump administration is working hard to address America’s education crisis, reinvigorate the American workforce, and strengthen the U.S. economy. Instead of working to improve the lives of students, workers, and job creators, the Biden-Harris administration bowed to union leaders and burdened families with needless, bureaucratic red tape. “By comparison, the Trump administration has already made enormous strides to protect women and girls in sports, celebrate school choice, and protect American workers. The Trump administration is also working to combat antisemitism in our postsecondary education system as Jewish students continue to face outrageous harassment and discrimination on campus. And unlike the previous administration, this one is fighting to create opportunities for workers and job creators instead of bending over backwards for union leaders and special interests. “Under President Trump, common sense is returning to America, and House Republicans are committed to enacting his bold vision for the country. As Chairman of the Committee on Education and Workforce, I will work in lockstep with this administration to protect students, workers, and job creators to ensure every American has a chance to thrive.” ### |
