Chair Walberg on Newsmax Talks Secretary McMahon’s Confirmation, Campus Antisemitism
WASHINGTON, D.C.,

In Case You Missed It, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) appeared on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America,” with Sharla McBride and Marc Lotter, to discuss Education Secretary Linda McMahon's confirmation, the Trump administration’s education priorities, and the importance of protecting Jewish students from antisemitic mobs wreaking havoc on America’s colleges and universities. Highlights from the Chairman’s interview are below:
“I think we’re going to be on a roll now, and it’s going to be challenging work, but it’s work I believe that it’s most important work to be done for this country: making sure there’s a solid education experience to develop a workforce that can meet the needs of the developing world.” On the Trump administration investigating universities that fail to protect Jewish students: “What was done in the House Education and Workforce Committee last year under the previous Chairman, Representative Foxx, was solid, and I think it pointed to the cancer that’s within our universities that’s indoctrinating our students against Judaism – but also against America. That has to stop, and strong action must be taken, and these students who think they’re doing something important to destroy America need to be taken under control.” On holding schools accountable for permitting antisemitism on campus: “[Trump is saying] ‘if you want to allow this to carry on, then you’re going to lose your federal funding’. I think that should wake them up and that’s what the president was saying: he’s been saying common sense, law and order, America first. “I have a hat in my office that former Secretary Betsy DeVos gave me that says: Make Education Great [Again]. We have to do that or this country doesn’t survive.” Watch Chairman Walberg’s full interview here.
