Chairman Walberg Praises Trump Administration Decision to Cut Federal Grants to Columbia University

Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) praised the Trump administration’s decision to cut $400 million in grants to Columbia University:

“Since entering office, President Trump and his administration were clear: colleges and universities that fail to combat antisemitism and protect Jewish students should have their federal funding revoked. Today, he made good on that promise. Schools like Columbia have tolerated horrific, antisemitic behavior on campus openly calling for the murder of Jews – all while continuing to haul in hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars.

“Americans do not want their money sent to institutions that serve as breeding grounds for hatred and support for terrorism. I applaud the Trump administration for listening to the American people and holding institutions accountable when they fail to combat antisemitic, anti-American values. Committee Republicans stand with President Trump in his effort to protect Jewish students and root out antisemitism.”
