Walberg Applauds Withdrawal of Biden-Harris Joint Employer Rule as Win for the American Dream

Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) applauded the withdrawal of the Biden-Harris joint employer rule and reinstatement of the 2020 Trump rule, calling it a major victory for small businesses, workers, and the American Dream:

“For generations, the American Dream has meant the freedom to start a business, create jobs, and build a better life. The Biden-Harris joint employer rule made that harder by piling on red tape and legal uncertainty. Withdrawing it is good news for workers, small business owners, and the communities they serve.

“Franchises and small businesses often give Americans their first shot at a job—and a chance to one day own a business of their own. These businesses are rooted in local communities and provide real pathways to work, advancement, and entrepreneurship.

“By rescinding the Biden rule and restoring the 2020 Trump rule, the Trump administration is helping ensure: greater certainty for small and independent businesses, stronger job growth and local investment, and continued opportunities for workers to start, build, and succeed.

“The Education and Workforce Committee has worked to advance policies that empower workers, support job creators, and expand opportunity without unnecessary federal overreach.

“Hard work, innovation, and risk-taking are the backbone of the American Dream. Today’s action moves us closer to an economy where small businesses can grow and workers have more opportunities to succeed.”
