Chairman Walberg Celebrates DOL Joint-Employer Rule, Bringing Stability for Workers
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
April 22, 2026
Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) issued the following statement on the Department of Labor’s new joint-employer rule:
“I am glad the Department of Labor is providing legal and regulatory clarity and stability for the American workforce. For too long, American job creators have been subjected to a confusing and burdensome joint-employer standard that enabled federal overreach and hindered economic growth by driving up costs for small businesses and making it harder for entrepreneurs to build their businesses. “When businesses have room to grow, they thrive. The Trump administration is removing needless, bureaucratic overreach and empowering employers—and employees—to successfully manage their own working partnerships. As always, Republicans and the Trump administration are committed to putting our workforce first and putting an end to needless federal overreach.” ### |
