@EdWorkforceCmte Passes Five Bills on Disability Employment, Civics Education, Health Care, and Retirement Security

The Education and Workforce Committee passed five bills today to expand employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, strengthen civics and history education, increase health care transparency, lower prescription drug costs, and strengthen retirement security.

Following the markup, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) said: “From increasing workforce opportunities for adults with disabilities to restoring excellence and integrity in civics education, these bills address real challenges facing students, workers, and employers across the country. The Committee is also taking important steps to cut unnecessary red tape, improve transparency in health care billing, and crack down on practices that drive up costs for patients. Together with reforms to strengthen retirement security, these bills reflect our commitment to transparency, accountability, and better outcomes for students, families, and workers.”

H.R. 7362, Form 5500 Filing Simplification Act, authored by Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI):

H.R. 7895, PBM Kickback Prohibition Act, authored by Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA):
