Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) issued the following statement supporting the Trump administration’s latest interagency agreements, which advance efforts to put students first by cutting bureaucracy and right sizing the Department of Education:
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. For decades, federal control of education expanded, yet student outcomes declined. Continuing the same approach is failing our students.
“The Trump administration is following through on its promise to fix the nation’s broken system by right sizing the Department of Education to improve student outcomes. These most recent interagency agreements will preserve access to critical programs for families while cutting bureaucracy and putting resources where they belong—students’ education.”
Background: The Education Department announced four interagency agreements that will allow the Department of Education to partner with other federal agencies on management of federal education programs.
