Kline Statement on October Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
November 2, 2012
U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairman John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released employment data for October: Results matter. And today’s employment report shows the American people have not been given the results President Obama promised. Instead of unemployment below 6 percent and a robust job market, Americans now face record deficits, threats of tax hikes, and a debt crisis that is crippling our economy.
The Obama administration’s policies are failing this country. Far too many people remain out of work, and job creators are still struggling to keep their businesses afloat more than three years into the so-called recovery. High unemployment, anemic growth, and millions searching for full-time work cannot become the new normal. It’s time for the era of empty promises to end.
With the right leaders in Washington, we can advance bold and responsible reforms to address the challenges we face – solutions that place less hope in government and more faith in the American people. House Republicans continue to champion such an agenda and it is past time we had a president who will do the same. # # # |
