Kline Statement on April Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
May 6, 2016
Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released unemployment data for April 2016:
More Americans are back to work, and that’s a good thing. However, this report is the latest warning that our country is heading in the wrong direction. Millions of Americans are still struggling to find the full-time jobs they need to support their families. The last thing workers and employers need are new regulatory schemes that stifle important rights in the workplace, make it harder to save for retirement, and limit opportunities for men and women to advance up the economic ladder. We need to abandon the administration's failed policies that have prolonged this anemic economy and move the country in a new direction. That’s why House Republicans will continue to push back against flawed regulatory policies and fight for commonsense solutions that will deliver the growth and prosperity working families need. |
