Kline Statement on June Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
July 8, 2016
Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released unemployment data for June 2016: After a troubling jobs report last month, it’s certainly good news that more Americans are back to work. But we have a long way to go before every worker has a good-paying job that will provide for their families. As I’ve said before, we need to do better. It starts by rejecting flawed regulations that will stifle small businesses, make it harder for people to save for retirement, and limit opportunities for men and women to advance up the economic ladder. It’s also going to take responsible, pro-growth solutions. Just yesterday, members of the Committee on Education and the Workforce unanimously passed legislation that will help more Americans gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the 21st century workforce. It’s an important step, and this is exactly the kind of leadership the American people need from Washington. # # # |
