Foxx Reacts to CDC School Reopening Guidance
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
July 9, 2021
Today, Republican Leader of the Education and Labor Committee Virginia Foxx (R-NC) gave the following statement in response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encouraging schools to reopen fully in the fall:
“The CDC is supposed to be a leader in the scientific community, not an echo chamber for Democrat talking points. While I am pleased that the CDC is finally encouraging schools to reopen fully in the fall for in-person learning, this decision was dragged out and politicized at the expense of children’s mental health and education. I hope parents and students everywhere are paying attention to the chaos the Biden administration and its teacher union allies have caused and will continue to advocate for the high-quality, in-person education they deserve.” ###
